What should my website actually say?

The three questions every visitor is silently asking.

Most farm websites fail for the same reason: they describe the farm instead of answering the visitor.

Someone landing on your site is asking three things, in this order:

  1. What can I buy? Not your philosophy — the actual products, with prices.
  2. How do I get it? Pickup, delivery, farm stand, market. Be specific about where and when.
  3. Why should I trust you? This is where your story belongs, and where it works hardest.

Write like you talk

"We raise about 400 birds a year on pasture, moved daily" is worth more than a paragraph about sustainability. Specifics are believable; adjectives are not.

Put the boring details in

Where exactly to park. Whether to bring a cooler. Whether you take cards. Every one of these is a question you will otherwise answer by phone.
